Responsibility

Already a Benefit Corporation since 2020 and a member of the United Nations Global Compact since 2021, MagNet proudly joined the B Corp family in 2022

MagNet believes in a way of doing business that looks beyond profit. Being today a Benefit Corporation and a certified B Corp is the result of a conscious journey that sees the group engaged every day in generating a positive impact for the environment, people and society. This approach is now an integral part of MagNet’s DNA, not a standalone project, but a way of working, thinking and relating.

MagNet is aware that sustainability is not a destination, but a constantly evolving journey. For this reason, it draws inspiration from the 10 principles of the United Nations Global Compact and integrates the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda into its strategy, corporate culture and measurement tools.

Every year it reports in a transparent way what it does, the results achieved and the goals it sets for the future. Because it believes that consistency is the most authentic form of responsibility.

Since 2004 MagNet has been a protagonist in Italy’s trade sports publishing industry with a single objective: to generate value for people, the environment and the community.

People: running together

People: running together

People are MagNet’s real energy. For this reason, it has built a work environment based on respect, trust and the enhancement of differences.

Diversity and inclusion are not slogans, but measurable goals: MagNet promotes active policies for gender equity, guarantees equal opportunities and listens to the needs of those who work within it.

It invests each year in continuous training, with pathways that help each collaborator grow both professionally and personally. It gives space to the development of digital skills, distributed leadership, relational well-being.

Particular attention is paid to the psychophysical well-being of its team: MagNet encourages a healthy balance between work and private life, activates support tools, stimulates sharing and a sense of belonging. Because a healthy and motivated corporate community is the basis of every impact project.

Environment: taking action in the field

Environment: taking action in the field

MagNet believes that every activity has an impact, but also the concrete possibility of transforming it into positive value. It is with this awareness that it has structured its environmental approach on tangible and verifiable actions.

MagNet prints its magazines on FSC certified paper, guaranteeing responsible and traceable forest management. It is a choice that reflects attention to the entire life cycle of the editorial product and is accompanied by a constant optimization of processes to reduce waste, consumption and superfluous materials.

Events are also conceived and organised with a strong orientation to environmental responsibility. In collaboration with ClimatePartner and with the help of Green Media Lab, MagNet has measured the CO₂ emissions generated by events held in recent years and, in 2022, purchased 2,500 tons of CO₂eq to compensate them in full.

In parallel, it actively promotes environmental education through its channels: columns, articles, interviews and panels dedicated in its magazines and during events. It tells stories, stimulates debate and gives space to good practices that can inspire change.

Community: networking

Community: networking

MagNet deeply believes in building long-lasting relationships with its territory and its stakeholders.

This translates into many daily actions:

  • it opens free spaces at its events and in its publications to non-profit, cultural and environmental associations, to help them raise their profiles and amplify their messages
  • it promotes corporate volunteering and encourages active involvement of collaborators in social projects
  • it gives priority to local suppliers, to strengthen the proximity economy and reduce supply-chain impacts.
  • it works side by side with its stakeholders, adopting a participatory model that places listening, co-design and transparency at its centre

MagNet does not want to be simply a publisher or event organiser, but an active agent in the promotion of virtuous networks and resilient communities.
