The job opportunity
As an in-house accountant, the role will be responsible for managing and improving day-to-day financial operations. They will work closely with the local team, colleagues and external tax advisors to ensure transparency, accuracy and compliance across all financial processes.
Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations
Complete monthly and annual financial closings
Prepare VAT returns and other mandatory reports
Support cash management, including weekly cash-flow forecasting
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
Coordinate with the external tax advisor on tax filings and audit matters
Ensure accurate inventory valuation and accounting
Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with German accounting principles (HGB)
Collaborate with the corporate finance team to support global initiatives, Kaizen events and other activities
Required skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or an equivalent qualification
Proven experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of German GAAP and IFRS accounting principles
Experience with ERP systems (Syteline or other Infor products is an advantage)
Proficiency in German and English (business level)
Excellent organisational, prioritisation, project management and time management skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Understanding and knowledge of the bike industry is considered an advantage
